What happens when “new” technology comes out? Are the Merchant Providers under any duty to provide new software to download to the terminals to make them “current”?

   Yes, if you rent your terminals from your Acquirer, it is their responsibility to ensure that your terminal is up to date with all the required technology. However, if you’ve purchased your device, it will be your responsibility to ensure that you equipment is up to date.
